2.2.014

  • Highlight text and add notes while reading your scanned books. Long-press text for quick highlight, note, copy, dictionary, and translate tools. Bookmark pages and jump straight back from the list. Start from "Highlight · Bookmark" in the reading screen's side menu.
  • Fixed the capture buttons and bottom menu being cut off on smaller screens such as iPhone SE.
  • Choose the font for recognized text. Change the weight and style, or import your own font file (TTF or OTF). It applies to the reading and editing screens and to PDFs with visible text.
  • Export pages as a ZIP of JPG or PNG images, exactly as shown on screen (photo, text over photo, or text only). Find it under the TXT · Images button on the Edit · Export screen.
  • Moved the text size button in the ebook reader to the top bar so it's easier to find.
  • Fixed the ebook page turning when long-pressing to select text, and highlights or notes covering only part of an extended selection.
  • The ebook selection toolbar is larger and appears below the text, with new Translate and Eraser tools. Re-highlighting replaces the old highlight instead of stacking.
  • Fixed the loading screen getting stuck at 0% after buying Premium. (If you already paid but Premium isn't on, tap “Restore Purchase” in Settings.)
  • Fixed colored lines appearing along the top and bottom edges of captured pages. (Retake pages captured earlier to remove them.)
  • Fixed text appearing out of place over the photo after editing it with Cut Margin on.

We've added text correction, our most requested feature.

  • In the reading and listening screen, tap Edit Text in the menu and select a line to fix it while viewing the original photo and the recognized text side by side.
  • Switch between Photo and Text views to quickly find misrecognized words.
  • Remove lines you don't want read, such as page numbers or headers, and restore them at any time.
  • Your corrections are used for read-aloud, searchable PDFs, TXT, and new ebooks.
  • When you re-run OCR or retake a page, the app asks first so your corrections aren't lost.
  • Fixed old text remaining after retaking a page when text recognition failed.

2.2.012

We've improved ebook creation and photo import, and added six new languages.

  • Choose a font file (TTF or OTF) you own and embed it in your ebook. The book also uses that font when you read it in the app.
  • Choose text colors for the original and translated text in translated ebooks: EPUB, Phone, or Custom.
  • Books made from photos can now become translated ebooks. The app automatically prepares everything it needs first.
  • Added text recognition and read-aloud for German, Vietnamese, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Ukrainian. Only languages supported on your device are shown.
  • Import photos from your library in the order you choose. Swipe sideways to select several photos at once, and pinch to resize them.
  • Use Photo Alignment and Photo Zoom to see page numbers clearly even in small thumbnails, so it's easy to put pages in order. Fill the screen with one photo and keep spreading your fingers to view the whole photo.
  • The listening screen now shows the current language and voice.
  • Fixed the corrected image not appearing in the preview when saving directly to Photos.
  • Fixed faint original text on e-ink devices and text that was hard to read in other ebook apps' night mode.

We've also refined ebook preparation for long books and the overall experience.

2.2.011

We've improved zooming and page navigation when reading and listening to scanned books.

  • Zoom applies to the whole book, so you can continue to the next page without losing your zoom level.
  • Improved touch handling for scrolling and horizontal movement while zoomed, and reduced repeated display calculations.
  • Thin page separators make page boundaries easier to see. You can turn them off in Settings under Reading & Listening.
  • Pinch below the default size and release to bounce back and open or close the right-hand menu. You can disable this menu gesture in Settings.
  • Added Correct Curved OCR Lines (Beta) to reduce overlapping recognized text and text hidden by background masks in reading, editing, and PDFs with visible OCR text. Turn it on in Settings.
  • Fixed long English sentences being cut off when OCR display correction is enabled.

We've also refined the reading and listening experience.

2.2.010

We've continued improving how you turn scanned books and imported PDFs into easy-to-read EPUB eBooks. This update makes scanning, editing, and listening faster and smoother.

  • Listen to just the body text by skipping the book titles, author names, and page numbers that repeat on every page. (Turn it on in Settings.)
  • When you retake or add a page in Edit · Export, you now return straight to that page after capturing, making it much easier to fix several pages in a row.
  • When retaking a page, Cover mode is chosen automatically for covers and 1 Page mode for body pages.
  • Turn off "Recognize Text While Scanning" to capture pages faster. Text is recognized all at once when you open the book.
  • When scanning in landscape, drag the shutter button to the other side so it's easier to press with one hand.
  • Tap the new "Cancel" button while a capture is processing to discard it and shoot again right away.
  • Photos where the page area was detected incorrectly are no longer saved; you'll be asked to retake them.
  • Book covers on the shelf are now a uniform size, and resuming listening now picks up accurately from the right page.

Fixed issues where pages added in 2-page mode could end up out of order, capturing could stall at "Saving", and the app could close on very large images.

We've also polished the UI and improved overall usability and stability.
